The file in the download link contains remakes of all 40 of the original Dragon Cards, with mythical/supernatural flavors removed and replaced with historical flavors for players who prefer them. The card texts and functions are not changed.
The name "dragon card" is renamed to "event cards".
The name "honor and fortune tokens" is renamed to "tokens".
Examples here:
Remakes of blue dragon, white dragon and red dragon.
This file also contains an optional bonus module that I plan to use in my future scenarios.
This is a Scenario Special card. Its function is dictated by the scenario description.
How does this work?
First, pick out and remove between 4-8 of your least favorite dragon/event cards and replace with an equal number of Scenario Special cards.
Depending on the faction you are playing, this card will do something different.
When I release scenarios that are compatible with this module, I will print the faction-specific cards on the scenario pages. For example:
A scenario featuring Uesugi Kenshin may have this card listed as the scenario special for the Uesugi player, meaning that all the Scenario Special cards for the player will function as Kurumagakari. The other player cannot use Scenario Special as this card. They will have another card with a different effect.
Similarly, in a scenario featuring the Shimazu brothers, you might find this card being printed in the scenario description as the Scenario Special for the Shimazu player. Their opponent will have something else.
This provides a way to give each faction some uniqueness in their strategies.
It can also be used for some scenario specific objectives. One example is a "timed" scenario, where a Scenario Special card might do nothing on its own but the "stalling" faction wins the game after drawing a certain number of them.
It may also be used to represent events specific to the battle and not a tactic used by a faction or a historical figure. For example, it can serve as a trigger for a weather effect that affects both players. Many possibilities can be explored.
